Liv Outside — formerly Muskoka Outfitters — is Bracebridge’s home base for adventure, sitting right on the Muskoka River. Part retail shop, part full-service bike shop, part outfitter, it sells and rents the gear and runs the tours that turn a Muskoka visit into a day outside.
The rental fleet covers the seasons: kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards for the water, fat bikes for the trails, and snowshoes and backcountry skis when winter arrives. Groomed bike trails run on site, and the river is right there for paddling departures. Its signature experience is the guided ice climbing — 70 to 100 vertical feet of chandelier ice on granite cliffs in Muskoka hardwood forest, a six-hour adventure running weekends from early January to late March, with private weekday bookings.
Staff are repeatedly praised for being helpful and knowledgeable, and the shop’s riverfront position makes it an easy launch point: gear up, walk out, and be on the water or the trail in minutes. For visitors who arrive without equipment — or locals looking for a guided push — Liv Outside is where Bracebridge’s outdoor life starts.
