First stop in Bracebridge should be the Bracebridge Visitor Information Centre, run by the Bracebridge Chamber of Commerce on behalf of the Town. Set in Bird Mill Mews at 3 Ecclestone Drive near the Silver Bridge, it offers trip planning and guidance across the town’s attractions, accommodations and dining — the friendly human version of a search engine, staffed by people who actually live here.

The building is a piece of history itself: Bird Mill Mews, built in 1918, is the last remaining structure of the Bird Woollen Mill (which operated from 1872 to 1954) besides Woodchester, and the Town has owned it since 1990. Open daily, it’s the place to pick up maps, ask about the falls, find a restaurant for dinner, or plan the next day’s drive through Muskoka.

Every good trip starts with a local tip. This is where Bracebridge’s are handed out.
