Beaverton Fall Fair

Beaverton-Fall-Fair-1

The Beaverton Fall Fair brings generations of agricultural tradition, community pride, and classic fairground excitement together near the eastern shore of Lake Simcoe. First held in 1855, the fair has become an important annual gathering for Beaverton and the surrounding Brock Township countryside. For two busy days, the fairgrounds fill with livestock, homecraft displays, midway rides, food vendors, entertainment, and neighbours reconnecting after another growing season.

The celebration traditionally begins with a community parade travelling through Beaverton before arriving at the fairgrounds for the opening ceremonies. Once inside, visitors can explore adult and junior exhibits featuring baking, preserves, flowers, vegetables, photography, crafts, and other locally created entries. These displays reflect the care, knowledge, and friendly competition that have kept Ontario’s agricultural fairs thriving for generations.

Animals and rural skills remain central to the experience. Beef and 4-H competitions introduce visitors to local agriculture, while horse shows, gymkhana events, farrier demonstrations, wagon rides, and tractor pulls highlight different parts of country life. Families can also enjoy children’s contests, demonstrations, live performers, and activities taking place throughout the grounds and on the community stage.

The midway adds bright lights, carnival games, spinning rides, and familiar fairground treats. In the grandstand, Demo Cross and the demolition derby provide the loudest moments of the weekend as modified vehicles race, collide, and compete before an enthusiastic crowd.

What makes the Beaverton Fall Fair memorable is the way it balances entertainment with a genuine connection to the community. Farmers, volunteers, young competitors, local businesses, performers, and families all contribute to the event. Whether visitors come for the livestock, exhibits, midway, parade, or demolition derby, the fair offers a welcoming celebration of rural life and autumn in northern Durham Region.
