Foley Mountain Spy Rock Lookout

download-2-7
Spy Rock Lookout at Foley Mountain Conservation Area is one of Eastern Ontario’s most spectacular scenic viewpoints, offering panoramic vistas over Westport, Upper Rideau Lake, and the surrounding Rideau Lakes cottage-country landscape. Located just outside the village of Westport, the lookout has become a favourite destination for hikers, photographers, road-trippers, and travellers exploring the Rideau Canal region. The trail to Spy Rock passes through forests, rocky terrain, and sections of the Frontenac Axis before reaching the dramatic granite lookout point high above the lake. From the summit, visitors are rewarded with sweeping views of forests, islands, waterfront communities, and rolling countryside stretching across Eastern Ontario. The scenery is especially breathtaking during autumn when vibrant fall colours cover the surrounding hills and shorelines. Foley Mountain Conservation Area also offers additional hiking trails, picnic areas, birdwatching opportunities, and family recreation facilities. The lookout is accessible enough for casual hikers while still delivering a rewarding outdoor experience suitable for photographers and nature enthusiasts. Because of the elevated terrain and open rock surfaces, visitors are encouraged to wear proper footwear and exercise caution near cliff edges.
