Dads of Muskoka Disc Golf Course

Bracebridge’s disc golf scene owes everything to a volunteer group called the Dads of Muskoka — and their course at Peake Fields is one of the most beloved in the province. This free, public 18-hole course at 1028 Taylor Road was built by the Dads in 2013, opened with a grand tournament in June 2014, and has since grown to 18 holes that the group still maintains, with a weekly Thursday league through the summer from the Bracebridge Disc Golf Club.

The layout is mostly wooded, with some open fairways and a waterway running through the middle: a short-game course, mostly par 3s with a couple of par 4s, the longest holes around 118 metres, for a round of roughly 2.7 kilometres and two hours of play at a “Moderate” rating. It holds a 4.6-out-of-5 rating from more than a thousand community reviews, and it’s genuinely welcoming — leashed pets allowed, restrooms and drinking water by the baseball diamonds, no fee to play.

Whether you’re a seasoned disc golfer or a first-timer with a borrowed putter, Dads of Muskoka is the kind of course that builds a community around itself: free, friendly, and kept alive by the people who play it.
