Parry Sound Visitors’ Information Centre

G0150408-300×225-1

The Parry Sound Area Visitor Information Centre sits at 2 Bay Street, right on the downtown waterfront, and it is the natural first stop when you arrive in town. Whether you are passing through on the highway or settling in for a week at the cottage, this is where you get your bearings. Inside you will find racks of free maps and brochures covering the whole area, from Killbear Provincial Park to the shops, restaurants and concert venues of downtown Parry Sound.

The real value is the staff. They are locals who know the region well and are happy to share it, pointing you toward the best lookout points, the cleanest beaches, a good dinner spot, or what is happening at the Stockey Centre this weekend. If you are planning a boating day on Georgian Bay or a hike along the coast, ask here first. A five-minute conversation can turn an ordinary visit into a much better one.

The centre is easy to reach, with parking nearby and a pleasant harbour-side walk right outside the door. Travellers also appreciate the clean washrooms, which matter more than you might think on a long driving day. Hours change with the seasons, so check before you go, but through the busy summer months the doors are open daily.

Even if you think you know Parry Sound, it is worth popping in. The staff hear about new openings, seasonal events and local happenings before anyone else, and you will likely leave with at least one idea you did not have when you walked in.
