Where the famous Moon River meets Georgian Bay, in the heart of the 30,000 Islands, Moon Basin Marina & Cottages is built for people who come to fish. This small fishing and cottage resort sits at the mouth of a river legendary for trophy muskie, walleye, pike, largemouth and smallmouth bass and crappie — the Canadian record 65-pound muskie was caught just around the corner. If you are serious about fishing the Bay, this is hallowed water.

The cottages sit right on the water with sweeping lake views and spectacular sunsets, from cosy one-bedrooms to big bunk-filled cabins that sleep groups of ten. An excellent swimming dock and nearby waterfalls handle the non-fishing hours, and much of the surrounding land is vacant Crown land — spectacular scenery for naturalists and photographers, plus excellent hunting for duck, grouse, deer and moose in season.

Moon Basin specializes in group events, with catering available and the option to rent the whole resort for up to fifty people. Boat and motor rentals are on offer for guests who arrive without. Part marina, part fishing camp, part wilderness lodge, it is the complete package for a group trip where the fishing comes first and everything else follows.
