The Bobby Orr Hall of Fame, at 2 Bay Street inside the Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts, celebrates the most famous son of Parry Sound. Bobby Orr was born here in 1948 and went on to become one of the greatest hockey players of all time, winning two Stanley Cups with the Boston Bruins and changing the way defence was played. His famous flying goal remains one of the most iconic images in sports.
The Hall of Fame is an interactive hockey museum rather than a quiet gallery. Exhibits include Orr’s NHL championship rings, his trophies and awards, game-worn jerseys and sticks, and a pictorial history tracing his career from Parry Sound minor hockey to NHL stardom. Hands-on games and activities let visitors test their own hockey skills, which makes it a hit with kids.
The Hall also honours other exceptional athletes with ties to the Parry Sound area, and new members are welcomed at induction ceremonies — the Class of 2026 was celebrated in June 2026. A gift shop in the Stockey Centre lobby sells souvenirs from both the Hall of Fame and the performance hall.
Pair your visit with a walk along the waterfront. The Stockey Centre sits on a 3.5-acre site where the Seguin River meets Georgian Bay, and the building itself was designed to feel like a classic Georgian Bay cottage, all wood and stone. Between the hockey history inside and the harbour views outside, it is an easy anchor for a day downtown.
