South River Indoor Golfers Club

363

South River Indoor Golfers Club is a private, member-supported indoor golf space located at 100 Ottawa Avenue in South River, Ontario. Opened in February 2014, the club was created to solve a common problem for Canadian golf enthusiasts: long northern winters that keep players off the fairways for months at a time. Instead of packing their clubs away until spring, local players can play golf in a warm, climate-controlled space all year.

The facility operates on a lifetime membership model with key access, giving members and their invited guests flexible, self-serve entry seven days a week between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM. Inside, the club features an advanced digital simulator powered by an Apogee launch monitor and modern golf software with access to thousands of virtual courses from around the world. Players can tee off on famous international greens, practice specific drives, or play quick practice rounds on an indoor putting area.

Beyond open play, the club emphasizes swing improvement and biomechanics. Its founder, Todd Lucier, brings a background in human kinetics to offer personalized coaching sessions, helping golfers refine their posture, mechanics, and ball striking during the off-season. The tracking technology also gives immediate data on club path, ball flight, and distance, so members can see exactly how small swing adjustments change their results.

The club is designed to feel like a relaxed, friendly community hub rather than an intimidating training center. Juniors, retirees, casual beginners, and seasoned scratch golfers share the same room to practice, play friendly matches, or keep their rhythm sharp before the outdoor season begins. It provides an easy, low-pressure way for friends and neighbors in the Almaguin Highlands to stay active, social, and connected to the sport no matter the weather outside.
