The Powassan Farmers Market takes place every Saturday morning on Main Street South in Powassan, right beside the Beer Store. It runs from 9 in the morning until 1 in the afternoon, starting on the long weekend in May and wrapping up on the first Saturday in October. Rain or shine, the vendors show up with tables full of fresh goods, and locals and visitors alike make it part of their Saturday routine.

This is a true farmers market, rooted in the agricultural community around Powassan. You will find fresh garden produce, from early spring greens to late summer sweet corn. There is local meat, farm fresh eggs, and dairy. Bakers bring homemade bread, pies, squares, and other treats. The preserves table is always worth a stop, with jams, jellies, pickles, honey, and regional maple syrup. There are also goat milk soaps and lotions, herbs and bedding plants, and a good selection of local crafts, sewing, and jewellery.

The market has a friendly, small town feel. Many of the vendors are the same people week after week, and they are happy to talk about what they grow and make. It is a good place to stock up for the cottage, grab a pie for the weekend, or just wander with a coffee.

In the colder months, Powassan also hosts a winter farmers market at 250 Clark Street on Saturdays from mid November, with baking, crafts, preserves, micro greens, and maple syrup. Between the two seasons, there is local flavour to be found in Powassan almost year round.
