Grundy Lake Provincial Park sits about an hour north of Parry Sound, near the town of Britt. It is a Natural Environment class provincial park, which means it protects the landscape while giving visitors room to enjoy it. The park is built around several quiet lakes, and swimming is one of the main reasons people come. There are six sandy beaches spread across the park, so you can pick the one that suits you best.

The main beach is in the day use area on Grundy Lake. It has a buoyed swimming area, shady spots with picnic tables, and a picnic shelter you can use on a first come first served basis. The water is clean and clear with a sandy bottom and a gentle slope, which makes it a good choice for families with children. The other beaches are near the campgrounds. Each one has its own feel. The Poplar Campground beach is known for having the nicest sand and clear water, and it is a great spot to watch the sunrise. The Balsam Campground beach is a favourite for sunsets. The White Birch and Trailer Campground beaches are smaller and quieter, good if you want a more private swim.

There are no lifeguards at any of the beaches, so swimmers need to look out for themselves and each other. Pets are not allowed on the beaches. The park also offers a free life jacket lending program and has a beach wheelchair available to borrow at no charge. Beyond swimming, the park has canoe launches on the lakes, hiking trails, and good fishing for bass, pike, and walleye. Motorboats are not allowed, which keeps the lakes calm and peaceful. It is a simple, natural place to spend a summer day.
