Point Petre Lighthouse is an active Lake Ontario lighthouse originally established in 1833, with the current striped concrete tower built in 1967 to guide ships through the often rough waters along Prince Edward County’s south shore. Although historically significant as part of early Canadian “Imperial” lighthouse systems, the site is largely inaccessible today and can only be viewed from outside its fenced perimeter.
